 Firstly can I start this article by saying that a lot of people are against MicroSoft, I'm a programmer by trade and believe it or believe it not I do think some MicroSoft products are great. Their business practices my be questionable but before I was a programmer I was a trainer and always found clients able to pick up MicroSoft products long before they picked up others, is it because their simple applications? Not really access can still from time to time catch me out it is, I believe, because MicroSoft have the most intuitive GUI interfaces about, I believe they're great products that are easy to use and end user friendly, but don't let this dishearten you for when it comes to internet explorer if I could remove it from my windows based system I would.
Internet Explorer is largely a victim of it's own success over 95% of the visitors to this site use internet explorer, why because it's easy to use and it's on the computer when you buy it.
 Unfortunately their are a number of problems with internet explorer, but we must first look at what it does before we can explain these problems. HTML is not a programming language nor are web pages programs (this does blur around SSI, there is difference between a web page and a web application) the browser is the program it reads the HTML in and tells the computer what to do, effectively your browser is an interpreted, it is given a set of instructions and follows them.
With a large percentage of the public using Internet Explorer it has come to the attention of some malicious eyes, who would be willing to create an instruction set that can have very sinister intentions. Now believe it or believe it not people who hack computers and create viruses are not that intelligent, to be honest the fast majority are script kiddies, so given a browser that is not in wide spread usage they have not idea how to attack it.
FireFox consequently offers increased security but unlike the rest of the 'MicroSoft' is bad crew that have kept the interface as intuitive and understandable as internet explorer, they have even improved a few of the features, notably bookmarks has it's very own manger, but the best way to see is not here but to try, if you click on the link below you can get FireFox for free, here at Deep Vein Insomnia we use nothing else and we are sure if you download it and try it pretty soon you'll be using nothing else either.
