Across Neagh

As the sun drowns behind the mountains, and the last rays of light caress the day
The purple sky hugs the heavens, and my troubles slip away.
Like a goddess the sun sits on the horizon, a final rest before it sleeps,
There it lays emitting a rose red, through the distant mountain peaks.

Then the moon rises from a rippled sea,
And the stars turn into diamonds, and shine throughout an eternity.
At day break the ground will be covered with a silky morning dew,
And the heavy headed snow drops, lift their heads in awe of the view.

Older now, but it's still the end of the day,
And I much rather be there, to look, across the waters of Laugh Neagh.
