Answer a prayer of forgiveness, heal a broken heart of mine.
Surely we can live together, on that island called compromise,

Some say happiness is a place on the horizon, but God knows only where,
Many a heart has set sail for it, but so few ever reach there.
Sincerity is building block, that keeps a love standing in a wind of distrust,
Faith is a loving whisper, that blows off the dust.

Patience is a blessing, and I know I've had my fair share,
But look at the times we've had, they way we once were.
Forgiveness is a healer, that surely can fix this broken dream,
Trust is an iron thread, that can hold together every seem.

But stubbornness is malignant, and spreads like disease.
