10 Way to spice up your boring meetings
1. Stand up indigently (at any time) and demand to know “the real reason the meeting was called"
2. Things moving too fast, someone else betting you, pull out a flip chart, you can waste so much time drawing pointless diagrams that no one will care about “those” points anymore.
3. Not quite sure what to do? Pull out a stero put on “low rider” and request everyone move about in strange manner, then remind them that such warm up exercises really make them more productive through out the day.
4. Nod reassuringly at the speakers comment, randomly shaking your head in disapproval, you will have the speaker in nervous disposition before the meeting is over.
5. Sounding stupid, need to put 2 cents in? Simply ask how this fits in with our overall strategy, at least a 10 minute explanation is bound to follow.
6. Sick of that twat talking, raise you hand to request a “think outside of the box” brain storming session.
7. Whilst you are asked to turn mobiles off, this is a big no, no. Taking calls during meetings clearly illustrates your importance and dominance over the rest, your quite but reassuring apology will reassure you co-workers that it really was an important call.
8. When asked to clarify a point which you can't quite remember tell them you are being general and will remain be general as it is curial to company success that we take a flexible approach to all things in the company.
9. Never explain the steps of any plan, this will make you responsible, by placing the “details” on others they will become responsible for your ill thought out plans
10. Did you just go too far, was your statement childish, unrealistic, impractical? Simply lay back and tell them it is visiion that makes a company successful, if you can dream it you can achieve it. |
